February Favorites: TV, Fashion, and Beauty

So, February might not be over yet but that's not going to stop me from talking about a few of the things that I really enjoyed during the month. There's never a wrong time to spread the love, am I right my dudes? Without further ado, or rather, more rambling about absolutely nothing from me, let's hop into chatting about some of my favorite things from this month. It's a random assortment, mostly because I haven't been using anything new in the makeup department and I want to do a whole separate post to my haircare, which is really all I've been testing out.

Remember that time I said I wasn't going to ramble? Yeah, me either.

I've been obsessed with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge for many, many years. It was the only tool I used to apply my foundation and concealers for a long, long time until I introduced myself to the original Beauty Blender and started alternating which sponge I was using. I'm not someone who buys new brushes really, like, ever unless I truly need to. I just usually would always rather spend money on actual makeup over tools, but man, did some new beauty tools change my makeup for the better. This is only just a handful of the assortment I've been playing around with, but I'll talk about a few of my favorites that aren't necessarily pictured here. But, for your information, the brushes I took some shots of are: the Contour Brush (literally best contour brush I've ever used, it's taken over my RT Scultiping Brush), Instapop Cheek Brush, 304 Fan Brush (so good for highlighters), Medium Shadow Brush, and Essential Crease Brush

I also really love the Buffing Brush to blend in the different powders on my face (i.e. blush, bronzer, and contour) to make everything look seamless. I also like the Shading Brush and Instapop Crease Brush to keep my eyeshadow looks, as the kids would say, on point. I've also been using their Miracle Mini Eraser Sponges to work in the concealer under my eyes and around my nose, spots that are usually too small for my normal sponges to properly tackle.

I just want to disclose up front that these were part of the paid campaign (#AD alert) I did with ASOS on Instagram, but this is just me talking about them because I like them. I'm not a huge earring person, but I can't get enough of these hoop style earrings. I'm starting to try to work them into my weekly (every day might be a lot) routine and these are a really fun way to add some detail to my otherwise kind of basic outfits. It's funny though, I hate gold hardware on handbags and shoes, but I will only wear gold jewelry aside from my David Yurman ring that I cherish with my life. I just think the gold jewelry flatters my face and skin tone so much better than silver does. These are pretty cheap earrings and are very lightweight, but my ears haven't reacted poorly to them so I'm going to continue to wear and love 'em!

I blame Emily for this purchase. We popped into Awoke Vintage in Greenpoint after we were shooting basically right in front of it because she hadn't gone yet. We were taking a gander and I saw these earrings sitting on the table and basically felt like the world stopped. As someone who was a self-proclaimed jewelry and accessory hater, I sure as hell snatched these earrings up quick. They get stuck on my turtlenecks sometimes and aren't hug-proof, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do for fashion sometimes!

I picked this up from Bando's warehouse sale on a whim. I have had zero pieces of art hanging on my walls in my apartment in New York and after nine months of living in this apartment with blank white walls, I figured it was about time I did something about it. This was by far the most expensive thing I got ($40, but originally $70)(edit: it is currently on the website for $52.99), but it came pre-framed and it's a pretty big print compared to some of the tiny ones I've seen around.

I heard a lot of people talking about this Netflix show and as I do with all Netflix shows and really, popular, binge-able shows, I ignored it for a bit until I had an entire day free and didn't know what to do with myself. I had already watched more than enough Friday Night Lights that week, so I had to do something different and hopping back into Gilmore Girls shockingly didn't come to mind. I decided to give this show a try and MY GOD IT WAS SO GOOD I CRIED. As usual, I don't know how to describe things, but it's a British comedy/drama about an awkward teen (#mood) Otis, who is the son of a sex therapist and basically becomes the "sex guru" at school (for some cash with his pal and regulation hottie/bad-girl Maeve) despite never having his own ~ sexual experience ~ IRL. That's the best way I can describe it. Just watch it, my dudes. Do it and don't look back! It's like eight episodes and you'll want to binge it all in one sitting so prepare yourself.

I  revamped a good chunk of my Pinterest boards to make them ten times more aesthetically pleasing. I still put my blog stuff on there, of course, but my main love with Pinterest as of late have been a few different categories.

Fashion inspiration is always a big one for me and I have basically three boards dedicated to it: What I Want In My Closet which is separated into different seasons because I am me, OP which is my board dedicated to Olivia Palermo which is also separated into seasons, and my general Fashion Fashion Fashion board which is all high-end designer stuff. I re-vamped my food boards, which are I Can't Cook and I Used To Be A Baker (thanks Harry Styles), which are all split up into subsections so I know where to find pasta versus chicken versus breakfast versus cake versus everything else.

And then my Beauty, Nails Horan (don't worry, I hate myself too), Home Decor, Hair, Art, and Words I Wish I Said + I Am Ambitious boards are still going strong as ever.

So like, in conclusion, follow me on Pinterest
