I missed a monthly favorites somewhere in the midst of my blogging break (take a shot every time I mention this break as if I was gone for six months rather than two measly weeks), which means we're due for an update on some things that I've been more than tolerating–dare I say it, loving–for the past month or so. New products in my arsenal lately have been far and few between due to the spending hiatus I've been trying to enforce since I've moved because (1) New York City is expensive and (2) I don't make enough money to continue that lifestyle. Alas, I've somehow acquired some new bits and bobs as of late that deserve the spotlight right here, right now.

Over the summer, Lizzy Hadfield from Shot From the Street did a whole video on keeping everything down there groomed during the summertime, the time of year where your bikini line is on display more than ever before. Unless you live somewhere that the weather is gorgeous year round and you spend most of your day in a bathing suit. I bought a few of her recommendations, including a shaving gel for sensitive skin, and of course this ingrown hair concentrate from Fur. I've seen this brand all over Instagram and just never realized what it was for.
Fur has quite a few different products that do similar things, but I bought the cheapest one that I could get on the Free People website because I wasn't sure how it was going to work for me and didn't want to drop $50 on something that was just going to make me burn or something. I didn't know what to expect! What I got instead was a soothing oil that made my post-shave routine so much more pleasant.
This concentrate can be used anywhere though, it's not just limited to your bikini line. You can use it on your underarms, legs, brows, lip, chin, wherever you're prone to redness. While you're in the shower, just use the little finger mitt it comes with to exfoliate the area that you get ingrown hairs most frequently. When you're finished in the shower or bath or whatever you prefer, apply a few drops of the concentrate to the bumps. It gradually banishes the pesky bumps and redness that can happen after a particularly rushed shave (we've all been there, it's okay), soothes irritations, and eradicates ingrown hairs wherever you struggle with them.
I've not tested this anywhere but my bikini line yet so I can't attest to what it does in other areas. All I know is that I have a friend in this product because it's keeping me razor bump free, which can be a major pain in the ass. Lace underwear + tiny razor bumps on the bikini line = disaster. Let's just leave it at that!
Forever 21 Sunglasses
One thing about me that you should know is that for the longest time, I only wore cheap sunglasses. Then, when I hit a certain age sometime in college, I switched and only would wear designer sunglasses (found at the outlet mall or at the consignment store) because I thought they suited me better and I'd rather have nicer pairs than cheapos. Sometime recently I decided that was really stupid and not having cheap, trendy sunglasses to throw on from time to time was stifling me creatively. Just kidding, I was just getting bored of wearing the same three frames and needed some variety in my life. It was as simple as that!
I picked up these two fun frames from Forever 21 back in September and they've been getting a heavy dose of love from me as of late. The black frames remind me of a mini Celine 'Edge' style except they were $8 and super easy to find unlike the rare and no doubt expensive as heeeeeellllll Celine pair.
And then we have the huge yellow circular frames. I don't even know what to say about these frames besides the fact that they are beyond fun to style and I feel a little dorky when I wear them. You've definitely seen both of these all over my Instagram and will continue to, no doubt. I'm a creature of habit and habitual outfit repeater.
Primark Tortoise Shell Earrings
For someone who hates wearing earrings and literally own likes, three pairs, tops, these earrings have somehow found a place in my life where I can actually tolerate them. I wear earrings so infrequently that I can't wear them for long periods of times, but I can wear these for almost an entire workday. I did have to take them out around lunchtime, as I do with most of my earrings no matter where I purchase them from and how expensive they were, but they're so comfortable and aren't heavy in the slightest. I love the trendy tortoise shell earring trend and I've been dying to try it. I decided that for four bucks, I could dish it out to feel like a "cool girl" and like I was doing something right with my style.
Bath and Body Works Leaves Candle
I don't think there's anything I could say about this candle that YouTubers and bloggers haven't said over the course of the past like, decade. This candle is the epitome of fall and smelling it brings me joy that no person will ever bring me. It be like that sometimes.
What have you been loving lately?
I've been hearing great things about Fur! A girl I work with loves it too. The Bath & Body Works candles are my favorite! As soon as it got cold here I burned my Leaves candle, and finished it so fast! Lately I've been loving the GlamGlow face mask and sprinkling some pumpkin pie spice in my coffee every morning!

I'm trying to ration my Leaves candle but it's so hard to resist burning it, especially on a weekend morning wahhhh.
DeleteWell I'm a candle fanatic and I've never heard of that one :O Now I feel left out!
ReplyDeleteThose tortoise shell earrings are too cute! I am obsessed with fall scents but have never jumped on the Leaves candle train - mainly because I couldn't burn candles in the dorms. But I'm thinking this year will be my year to finally try it out!
