Guys, I'm back on my bullshit this month with my June playlist. My 20 song playlist is dead, we are back to my roots with playlists that are so long that they aren't actually perfectly curated playlists with a specific mood. Nope, this is a shitshow playlist that jumps from genre to genre and that's what I love the most in this life. Playlists with no organization or plan are my aesthetic and it felt wrong to have a month without one.
Sometimes I write blog posts that I think people will like, but when it comes to my monthly playlists, this is strictly self-indulgence. I'm never going to stop sharing the songs I like, never, I tell you! And I'm tellllllllling you!
(That is not a song on this playlist, but it should be).
I don't even know if I have to mention any other song besides "You're Still the One" by Shania Twain. It's not the only song that matters on this playlist, but it is arguably the only song that matters in this life. Kidding, but what a bop, am I right? But a bop that isn't actually a bop but is still somehow a bop. Ja feel? Sir Harry Styles and Kacey Musgraves sang this duet at MSG night two and it's been stuck in my head ever since, not like it's a bad thing. I mean, when is having Shania Twain stuck in your head ever a bad thing?
At this point, I'm genuinely not even positive about what other songs I want to talk about now. I mean, does it get much better than Shania? 5 Seconds of Summer had a new album come out that is pretty good so, ya know, there are a few songs from Youngblood. We've got some Britney Spears, Frank Ocean, and some Dashboard Confessional, because all three of those make total sense to be in the same place together.
We were blessed in June not only with King Princess' full EP (ya know, "1950" and "Talia," but get ready for "Upper West Side" my dudes), but with DNCE'S NEW EP WHICH I HAVE BEEN WAITING AGES FOR. I've wanted new DNCE music approximately every day since they released their past few standalone singles and I am happy to announce that their new EP is incredible and Joe Jonas is still hot as hell, which has nothing to do with the actual EP and more just to do with his general existence in this universe.
I know Florence's album came out last month but it literally just came out and I haven't had the emotional capacity to listen to it in full yet and fully feel emersed in nature and all of god's creatures. When I feel like I want to be floating and transport to another world, Florence + the Machine's new album will get a nice listen or two or ten, I'm not at liberty to say.
What songs did you love in the month of June?
Love hearing about people's playlists!!
