This was my first Memorial Day weekend in the city. It was also my first three day weekend, which could have meant three days of pure, unadulterated happiness and bliss. Instead, it involved ten miles of walking, assembling furniture, and waking up at 3 in the morning to make it to Manhattan to see Troye Sivan. I wouldn't have changed it for the world, even if I am currently wishing I could fall asleep while I write this post at 11:15pm the night before because I didn't take my own advice and pre-write this post (at least I had the photos pre-laid out?). Sometimes you just have to lose some sleep and try to catch up to it at some point, right? Right?
As I said, my weekend started off with about ten miles of walking. My roommate and I went out to grab a bite to eat for breakfast and somehow ran errands and ended up staying out for quite a few hours, racking up a few miles on our pedometers (okay, so her Apple Watch and whatever the Health app on my phone does to track steps) while we unintentionally (at first) explored our neighborhood. Honestly, all I can say to this is HALLELUJAH. This is all I've wanted to do since we moved in and we finally did. I feel like a REAL HUMAN NOW!

Naturally, of course, I ended up at Veselka later on that evening. Where there's potato and sweet potato pierogi and potato pancakes (can you tell I like potatoes?), there's me. Veselka was chased with a long walk through the East Village, then the West Village, which concluded our day of like ten miles of walking. The amount is not confirmed, both of our Apple products calculated different distances. For all I know, we walked for 45 feet and Apple was just trippin'.
There are few things I love more than wandering aimlessly around New York City. It's my favorite way to sightsee and find new places. It's incredible what you can miss when you're looking at a map for new destinations. You gotta go seek them out in person sometimes!

Now, what did I say about a 3 a.m. wake up call? Yes, I did willingly wake up at 3 in the morning on my day off of work on Memorial Day to head over to The Today Show to arrive by 5:30 a.m. in order to see Troye Sivan perform. I got fan passes, they were free, I have never seen The Today Show, I like Troye enough, it all just worked out perfectly. Am I still paying for it now? *Yawn* Why yes, yes I am, but no regrets! I can finally say that I've gone to The Today Show and that I've seen Troye Sivan perform. I ended up hearing him perform "My! My! My!" about five times, so as far as I'm concerned, that made it worth it immediately. That song is a BOP.
The gist of my long weekend can just be summed up into this one sentence: I AM SO FREAKING TIRED WHEN CAN I SLEEP! But, you know, it was worth it and all that. I mean, I got to see the freaking mural for The Bold Type in person. What more could I want in life besides a million dollars and/or to be married to Niall Horan? Not much, really, that's what.

He was SO GOOD! He was living his best life on stage :) Have not caught up on sleep yet and I'm traveling for work this weekend, so I think sleep might have to wait until next weekend unfortunately. Wahhhhhhhhh.
