TGIF | My 2017 Favorites

Another year has come and gone and all I have to show for it is this 2017 round up of all of my favorite things from the year. Kidding, kidding. In lieu of sharing what I've loved this week, which has essentially been my Bumble onesie and that's about it, I figured that now would be as good as ever to share my favorites from the entire year considering come Monday, it's going to be 2018.

I also decided that what better way to delve into my favorites than to do it in video form? One thing I quickly learned is that it's very difficult to talk about many products and things without making a video six trillion hours long. So, naturally, let's talk about some bonus favorites in this post, just for fun.

Beauty

I truly haven't tried that many new beauty products this year, mostly because I've been on a makeup buying ban for quite some time. However, the NYX Epic Ink Liner is for sure a favorite. It's the only other liquid eyeliner I've ever tried that competes with my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in terms of actually winging out properly and precisely. Also, the Too Faced Melted Matte liquid lipsticks are up there too. I only have two colors and I prefer Lady Balls to Child Star, but my friend and I were gushing about them at dinner the other day and I might have to make the plunge and get more. Sorry, mom!

Books

A post of all of the books I read throughout 2017 is going up tomorrow, but there are a couple more standouts besides the three (well, technically three) I mentioned in the video. I loved Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han because (1) her books are fantastic and (2) it was the end to a series I've really enjoyed reading over the past couple of years. I also was completely enveloped in The Child by Fiona Barton. When I'm not reading YA fiction, I need something like The Child, Gone Girl, of The Girl on the Train to keep my interest piqued. 

Music

While I certainly know I missed a bunch of things in the post, I did make a whole playlist about my favorite songs from 2017, specifically released in 2017. Television

I actually mentioned it in the video, but I had to cut it out for time. Earlier this year, before I watched Brooklyn 99, I binge-watched the show Hart of Dixie with Rachel Bilson. It didn't come out or even finish in 2017, but I watched it in its entirety this year and then kind of again when I lowkey forced my roommate to watch it because I adored it so much. This show is just precious and all about small towns and Wade Kinsella could marry me any day, any time. I also got into The Voice again this year and I'm not ashamed! It makes me emotional and I just adore it and am so excited for Kelly Clarkson to be on next season.

I also watched Gilmore Girls again this year. So. Just to keep you in the know, that show is still my favorite.

Movies

I don't watch movies, so while it's true that I only saw two new movies this year that came out in 2017, I watched a couple of others. First thing, I watched Moana a couple of weeks ago and bawled my eyes out. What a beautiful film. Disney does it again, of course. Ugh, too good. I also watched...wait what else did I watch this year? Is that it? YIKES.
