1. "Fire Escape" by Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness
I know this song literally just came out at midnight but I don't care. I'm going to talk about it anyways, since I technically heard it for the first time back at the end of June when I saw him in concert and he performed it as part of his tiny little set list. I was hype when I heard this live for the first time (partially because of the actual performance that involved a lot of those inflatable air dancers) and I equally as excited when I realized this morning that the new single Andrew was releasing was, in fact, this one. Andrew's songs always have that sort of feel good vibe to them. Maybe it's because he's such a positive amazing person and you can just get that sort of feel through his music. Or maybe that's just me being an Andrew McMahon mega fan.
2. Quantico
Literally, my roommates and I only watched the first four episodes yesterday and I already want to dedicate the rest of my life to this show. Talk about suspenseful and dramatic and action filled and SERIOUSLY IS SOMEONE FRAMING ALEX?! The format of this show, between flash backs and present day, is just really interesting and keeps you on your toes. There have been so many twists and turns and I'm (well, we're) only four episodes in, so I can only imagine how many more are to come. If you're looking for a new show to binge watch, start with the 22-episode first season so you can be caught up when season two airs.
3. Fashion Month kickoff
Yesterday was the first day of NYFW and I am living. Not only because it's now NYFW, one of the happiest times of the year, but also because that means that Fashion Month starts. Can't stop won't stop living and breathing fashion. But truly, this is one of my favorite times because that means I can stop paying attention in class and look at collections on my phone. Just kidding. My classes are too early in the day for new collections to be out anyways. Professors, you can thank the scheduling gods for this.
4. Beats Solo 2
I got these free with my new Apple purchase and I didn't think I would like them as much as I did. I'm just a pop your earbuds in and deal with it kind of person but it's a whole new world with these wireless headphones. My brother had regular Beats a few years back and I remember borrowing them a few times and really enjoying them, but there was no reason for me to ever have them. There's not really any reason for me to have them now, but I'm still enjoying them regardless. I got the rose gold pair with my Apple purchase and...I'm obsessed. I just wear them in my apartment because there's no reason for me to carry them around with me to campus or wear them around anywhere else. I didn't realize that you could wear headphones that you wouldn't be able to hear anything else while they're on. They're my ultimate writing and study tool now!
5. Macbook Air
This is the thing I've been loving the most this past week. I finally bit the bullet and picked myself up a new computer. My old Macbook Pro will hit the five year mark in January and has been through a lot with me. I still have it! I still use it! It's my baby and it has all of my files and programs on it, but it will be used as a "desktop" computer. Now I finally have a computer light, quiet and mobile enough to actually take to campus with me. My old Macbook is heavy and the fan is so loud that it makes it unbearable to use in public. Plus, it doesn't run very fast, so it's nice to have something that I can use to get work done on campus without having to wait twenty minutes for it to start working properly!
