You know it's almost the first day of fall when the only thing I can talk about is fall. I'm not ashamed. I fully embrace my love for fall and will never, ever shy away from it. I refuse to hide my love for fall. Fall deserves more than that from me. I truly come alive starting at the beginning of summer. I thrive during the autumn months. It's as if I come back from the dead after a long, grueling summer in the heat and humidity.
Fall greets me every year like a warm hug from Harry Styles. These are just a few things that I love about this time of year. I could go on and on and on and seriously, on, about this. I truly could.
1. Pumpkin everything
2. Not having to use the AC unit and saving money on utility bills every month
3. The leaves changing color and giving you something to step on and hear that satisfying crunch on your walks
4. Wearing blanket scarves to class and actually wrapping them around yourself like a blanket to hide from the rest of the world
5. The holidays: National Coffee Day, National Cake Day, Halloween, my birthday, and Thanksgiving...
6. The sort of earthy, indie vibe that fall gives off. You know what I mean...fall just feels like a person who wear tortoise-shell horn rimmed glasses and sits curled up into the corner of the couch with a piping hot cup of tea while Bon Iver plays on a record player quietly in the background.
7. The dark lipsticks that border on black and scare your poor mother. The darker, the better, honestly.
8. Having the opportunity to not wash your hair for days so you can wear knitted beanies to hide your greasy roots (without dying in the heat). Don't lie, you do it too
9. Making plans to go apple picking or to the pumpkin patch but never actually going because yuck, nature.
10. Hiding all of those PSL pounds under layers upon layers of clothing. #AllTheLayers
