1. Peripheral Vision by Turnover
Before I put things on my Things I'm Loving lists, I should really think about what I'm going to say about them. Spotify told me to listen to this album in my Discover section and like all things app related, I listened. I just really, really dig this album, okay? I sat there and listened to it twice through on Tuesday morning because what else do you do on your day off when you find a killer album? I don't even know who they remind me of or why I like this album so much, but I think the only thing that really matters here is that I like it because I like it. This is precisely why I nipped my dreams of being a music journalist in the bud a long, long time ago.
2. Mac False Lashes + Maybelline Lash Sensational
I like both of these mascaras by themselves, but I've really been loving layering them. Basically, I'll curl my lashes and do a layer of the MAC mascara on my top and bottom lashes. Before they get a chance to dry, I use the Maybelline mascara to add a little extra curl and volume. I just think this combination yields the best and longest curl for me. My eyelashes tend to go a bit flat throughout the day, so really, anything that helps hold a curl for as long as possible is a friend to me and my eyelashes.
3. OPI Cajun Shrimp
This is my all time favorite nail polish. Seriously. I've had this one since high school and I will never get sick of pulling it out for the summertime. It's the most perfect red with a hint of orange in it. It's opaque in one to two coats, lasts longer than a lot of my other summer colors and seeing it just makes me insane amounts of happy. It's the kind of nail polish that once I remember I have it, I keep using it over and over again. My nails will probably be this color for weeks now. I'll just refresh and replenish when I need to.
4. Tahari Sandals
When I went to the Saks outlet a few weeks ago, I had my heart set on this pair of Nine West chunky heels. Unfortunately, they only had a size 8.5 and a size 9.5, meaning they were just a tiny bit too small and too big. UGH. I convinced myself that the 9.5 fit, so I went back later that night to pick them up and when I tried them on again, they just didn't feel right. But alas, in the box next to the Nine West shoes were a pair of nude, somewhat strappy chunky heels that looked incredibly cute. I slipped them on really quick, did a little strut to check their comfort and literally rushed to checkout because I did not want to be that person who lingered in a store ten minutes before they close. Little did I know that I would literally have to consciously make decisions in the morning not to wear these shoes. They go with literally everything. They are so cute and comfortable and I would honest to god wear them every day if I could. And really, I plan on doing that next week in Boston. They're very versatile, insanely comfortable and they were like $38. STEAL!
