The word "night out outfit" is not something that is typically in my vocabulary. I'm not sure if I've ever used it before today, though I'm sure it's slipped. But my love for this lace shift dress from Tobi is eternal, okay? My love affair with shift dresses has been an ongoing one since my first year of college, when I realized that shift dresses were not only uber flattering on me, but also allowed me to eat whatever I wanted without losing any comfort. From then on, we've been going strong and I haven't thought about turning back since.
I've never owned a shift dress as pretty, intricate and delicate as this one though. Basically, there's a whole lot of stuff going on, but it works. There is one bottom layer that is just a black sheath dress. On top of that is this thick layer of like...embroidered lace that hangs a bit lower than the sheath underneath, giving it this really cool laser cut look at the hem. Then at the top, there is this mesh cap sleeve/collarbone thing going on that is just like uber flattering and cool, conservative but not conservative at the same time. It's this detail that's like "I'm not like other moms. I'm a cool mom!", but replace mom with high neckline and then you've got it.
I'm rambling so much because I am just a tiny bit in love with this dress and I am looking for some place to wear it immediately.
Dress: c/o Tobi
Shoes: Call It Spring
And just when you think you're done with all of the mesh fun....BAM! You've got a deep V in the back covered in that pretty sheer mesh. Could this dress get any better? Probably not.
Sorry for the up close boobage shots but like...THAT LACE THOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!
