My mom told me to start writing this post three weeks ago because she thought it would take me that long to fully describe her for a post. I joked that I was going to make today's post all about how my brother turned 18 (which is also true and kind of scary because he's getting so old), which didn't make my mom laugh as much as I thought it would. I shouldn't even be writing this post, considering she told me that she didn't like Lorelei Gilmore this evening when I finally let her see the Instagram post above. #Rude, am I right? Regardless of that, I suppose I should let it slide. It's her only fault, really.
I feel like the quote from Rory's valedictorian speech pretty much sums it up for me. Change Lorelei Gilmore to my mom's name, swap out Jane Austen, Eudora Welty and Patty Smith and you know, change eighteen to twenty. Really, the meat of the quote is still the same.
In lieu of being too cheesy on here, my mom is the best mom in the world. I know everyone says this about their own mothers, and I'm sure they're right, so maybe I should change it to "my mom is the best mom for me."
Hope everyone enjoyed today with their mom, aunt, grandma, whoever plays that role in their life!
