1. Bailey
What is Bailey, might you ask? Well, my lovely roommates are also actual angels and decided to adopt a beautiful three-year old cat called Bailey! They've had her for a few days now and I've just been so insanely excited that I carry around my phone and show pictures of her to anyone who is even remotely paying attention. I'm like a proud grandma or something, honestly. But look at her!!! I can't wait to meet her in August!

This was my favorite of the four that I bought, for sure, partially because it's the brightest and we all know how I feel about bold lipstick. I joked that this lipstick was brighter than my future, but I don't think I was quite lying, honestly. It's a gorgeous siren orange with a bit of red so it's not straight Halloween on your face. It's a nice alternative to a red lip. It's a bit more punchy and fun, an easy way to add a little flare to your makeup that day! The application is smooth, but you just have to be careful on your top lip because the product tends to gather at the edges of your lip and can feather up onto your skin if you don't distribute it properly. It's not one of those "on the go" colors, but it wears decently if you apply it correctly! I do have to reapply the color if I eat or drink too much with it on, but it's a small price to pay for a gorgeous lip color. And I know that if my mom hates the color that I'm doing something right.
3. Burning candles
I think I've talked about all of the candles I'm currently burning on my blog before (White Sand, Provence Garden, and Market Peach all from Bath and Body Works), but I never realize how much I missed burning candles while living in the dorms until I come home and start again. Thank god I can continue to burn them throughout my third year because there won't be candle restrictions anymore! Goodbye, wallflower! Hello insane candle collection!
4. "Temptation" by New Order
I didn't know that this was a New Order song until my mom pointed it out around Thanksgiving while I was baking to the song. Long story short, one of my professors my first semester of college ever is in a band and I might have had a bit of a crush on him, so I found out his band very easily and apparently they're actually pretty popular? They were on The O.C. and have their cover of "Play With Fire" on the True Blood soundtrack. Anyways, they have a cover of this song on one of their—shocker—cover albums and I was jamming to it for a solid few weeks before I came home. My mom knew immediately it wasn't the same version and filled me in that New Order was the original artist.
I've had the original version in my "liked" Youtube playlist since, but sort of forgot about it until this week. It has all of the qualities of the quintessential 80s song, which might be my favorite and very specific genre of music. I decided that if my life was an 80s movie, I'd like this song to play during the final scene and roll during the credits.
