Last year when I was leaving Cleveland for the summer, I bawled in the passenger seat of my mom's car. This year, I didn't shed a tear, though that was mainly because I was the person driving myself and I know from experience that driving whilst crying is a dangerous combination, especially with me, an already not talented driver, behind the wheel. But just because I didn't cry doesn't mean that I'm not going to miss the heck of out of Cleveland this summer. These are just some of the things I'm going to miss about living there while I'm home for three months.
1. I can walk everywhere and do not have to rely on having a car.
2. The Cleveland Indians (see: Jason Kipnis)
3. Panini's pizza and french fries
4. My friends who are staying for the summer
5. The pier
However, there are a few things that are kind of nice about being home for the summer.
1. No ridiculous winds that change direction every five minutes when you're just trying to walk to work.
2. My mom does my laundry
3. There is usually at least something to eat that isn't just a box of pasta or 99 cent rice.
4. My family is here
And, most importantly...
5. MY DOG IS HERE
