The Met Gala is, arguably, one of my favorite nights in fashion, excluding fashion week circuits. It's an annual gala meant for fundraising for the Met's Costume Institute and is when fashion really becomes art in its truest form (see: Solange Knowles). Fashion is always art, of course, but the Met Gala really just pushes creativity. Each year has a theme as well. The theme for 2015 was "China: Through the Looking Glass." This theme could have been a mess of cultural appropriation, but I think a few people nailed it theme wise, and a good group just nailed it overall (I'm looking at you, Zendaya and Rihanna). Here are some of my favorite looks from last night, in no particular order.
1. Poppy Delevigne in Marchesa
2. Brie Larson, Courtney Eaton and Annabelle Wallis on Dolce and Gabbana
3. Amanda Seyfried in Givenchy Couture
4. Allison Williams in Giambattista Valli
5. Rosie Huntington-Whitely in Versace
6. Lily Collins in Chanel (holy Audrey, right?)
7. Hailee Steinfeld in Michael Kors
8. Kendall Jenner in Calvin Klein
9. Karlie Kloss and Gigi Hadid in Versace and Diane von Furstenberg, respectively
10. Zendaya "Literal Goddess" Coleman in Fausto Puglisi
11. Rihanna in Guo Pei
12. Beyoncé in Givenchy
13. Solange Knowles in Giles
14. Shupei Qin in Tommy Hilfiger
15. Lily Aldrige in Carolina Herrera
16. Michael B. Jordan
17. Fan Bingbing absolutely slaying it in this gold dress with the intricate detail
