It's no surprise that I love to shop and spend money. I find it very difficult to hold onto money for long periods of time (something that I'm certainly going to have to work on with renting an apartment next year...), which is why I'm not at all surprised at the amount of goodies I've accumulated since being home on spring break for only a few days at this point.
I really don't normally read books like this, but I also don't really have a "type" of book that I particularly enjoy more than another anymore (aside from books of essays by celebrities, those are my favorite, if I'm being honest). We'll see how this one goes!
2. Too Faced Melted Lipsticks
I purchased two of these because my friend is an enabler and because they were too gorgeous to pass up. The shade on the left is called Melted Violet and the color pay-off is just as you would expect. It's vibrant, it is very purple, almost like a mix between a violet and a lilac, falling somewhere in the lavender realm. The second shade is called Melted Jelly Doughtnut and it's a deep magenta, a perfect bold shade for the spring and summer time. Both of these apply very creamy, but I haven't worn them enough to know how they wear and whether they fade or not.
3. EOS Cucumber Hand Lotion
Nothing much to say about this! I like to keep a hand lotion in my bags and another on my beside table, so when I noticed that the EOS lotion I keep on my bedside table at school as empty, I knew I had to get another because they're just so handy to keep around.
4. Viva La Juicy Rollerball
I technically got this for free because back in November, I purchased a perfume sample set from Sephora where you got a free rollerball in one of the scents when you brought back in the coupon hidden inside. I finally redeemed it for the free rollerball and ended up choosing Viva La Juicy because I knew I would have more use for it in the summer time over Elizabeth and James Nirvana White.
5. NARS Jungle Red Lipstick
This lipstick reminds me of fruit punch. The color is a nice warm red with just the slightest tinge of orange that makes it a more spring time and summer appropriate red. It's matte, but it's creamy and not drying in the slightest. Plus, the sleek packaging, like all NARS products, is just so nice.
6. Mascaras
I got three different samples of mascaras because I just threw out about six or seven the other day that were old or dried up. I normally like to keep a decent amount of mascara around because it's one of the few products that I continuously try out. I picked up Tarte's Lights, Camera, Splashes because I needed a new waterproof mascara to use on my bottom lashes and I've heard only great things about this one. I also picked up BareMinerals's Lash Domination mascara because my friend recommended that I try it back in December or January and I finally got around to it! I've been meaning to try out BareMinerals products for a while, I just genuinely forget. And lastly, I picked up a sample of Urban Decay's Perversion mascara out of pure curiosity (and also because a friend recommended it to me). I'm excited to try these three out during the next couple of weeks.

1. The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
I know absolute nothing about this book besides the fact that I've seen in recommended quite a few times, so I purchased it on a whim at Target because it was the last copy and 30% off. Here's what the inside cover says:
Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?
