I wasn't overly wow'ed by red carpet fashion this Grammy season, which was fine because some super important things happened during the actual award show that are far more important than pretty dresses. However, since I am such a massive fan of great red carpet outfits and gorgeous women (#GirlPower), I thought I would give a round up of my favorites from last night, as well as my top three favorite moments at the end!
1. Taylor Swift in Elie Saab
2. Jessie J in Ralph & Russo
3. Jhene Aiko in Alberta Ferretti
4. Haim in Chloé and Stella McCartney
5. Rihanna in Giambattista Valli Couture
6. Beyoncé in Proenza Schouler
7. Nicki Minaj in Tom Ford
For my top three favorite moments, I've chosen:
1. Obama's speech about domestic abuse. This was quite possibly the most important thing that happened throughout the night. I cannot stress it enough. Participate, be loud, express support for this ongoing issue with the hashtag #ItsOnUs. This was in perfect timing with the release of 50 Shades this week (stay tuned for a nice ranty post about that this week...)
2. Prince's mini-speech before album of the year. In reference to albums themselves, he said, "Like books and black lives, they still matter."
3. Rihanna, Kayne West, and Paul McCartney's performance of "FourFiveSeconds." Need I say more? I'm so ashamed to admit that there was a brief period in time that I despised Rihanna for absolutely no reason and I am so embarrassed and disappointed in myself for it. Homegirl killed it on stage last night though.
What were your favorite looks and moments from the Grammys last night?
