Weekend Plans

Thank God it's Friday, am I right? It's the official start to my weekend and the unofficial start to mostly everybody else's. Come tonight and the next two days, you've got all the free time in the world (correction, you've got roughly 72 hours) to use in any way you see fit. While I don't condone totally ignoring schoolwork because that will surely come back around to bite you in the bum, focusing solely on work all weekend is a real downer. But what else would I do, Francesca? And why you talking in third person? The first question can be answered with some simple suggestions. The second will never have a proper answer.

1. Movies

This could mean that you actually suck it up and pay the $6 to $10 for the price of a ticket to the actual theater and sneak in water bottles and your own candy because who wants to pay $5 for a bag of Sour Patch Kids? Not this girl! This could also mean staying in your house/dorm, snuggling up in a blanket and watching Netflix for as long as you possibly can. Nothing better than throwing yourself into an alternate universe for the afternoon!

2. Mall and window shopping

Walking around the mall with you friends is good for the soul, I swear. The best gossiping and catching up gets done while you're looking at each other over the racks upon racks of clothes. If you're in college and don't have a steady disposable income, never fear, that's why window shopping exists! As long as you don't let yourself get physically upset that you can't afford everything that you want (see: ME), window shopping is ridiculously fun.

3. Bookstore and coffee

Since going away to school, I think my friend Aly and I solely hang out in Barnes and Noble (with the occasional trip on over to Ulta). We get our drinks, gossip (popular theme, I see) and them wander around the store and end up in the magazine section every single time.

4. Sporting event

If you're lucky enough to live in a city with a professional sports team, going to a game is a great way to spend your weekend. You can always find cheap seats, though they're not the best, if you really look. Also, a lot of universities will give away tickets or have contests where you can win a pair for free! You just have to keep your eyes out for the flyers and activities going around on campus. If you're not feeling up to professional sports, or your city just doesn't have them nearby, there's nothing wrong with showing a little school spirit! Go support your football team or basketball team or even your men's tennis team (Austrian Hottie, I'm coming for you). It might be more exhilarating then you might have thought.

5. Aimless driving

A bit of a more expensive and probably not the best for the environment, but going on adventures via car are always exciting. Roll your windows down, put on a good playlist, and just cruise.

What's your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
