If you were wondering if I was okay, no I'm not. I am fragile and quite frankly, shocked. I feel completely blindsided and I came out to have a good time and I'm honestly feeling so attacked right now. If you've got no idea what I'm talking about right now, you're probably a fully functional human being who doesn't melt into a puddle when boybands release information about their next album or you know, tack on FREE DOWNLOAD TO A NEW SONG THAT WAS ON SAID ALBUM.

If you still don't know what's going on, I'll sum it up for you.

ONE DIRECTION. HARRY STYLES. PRETTY BOY MALIK WITH HELLA EYELASHES. NIALL IRISHMAN HORAN. LIAM IRON MAN PAYNE. LOUIS FOOTBALLER TOMLINSON. NEW SONG. FREE. FOUR.

Translation: One Direction released a bit of information about their fourth album today via a short video. Apparently, the album is called Four, presumably because that's the amount of time I've wasted on them. Jokes. I've only wasted a little over two years of my life on them. No worries, mom. Perhaps to make up for the lack of creativity of the name of the album title, those five idiots gave fans a free download to a new song "Fireproof" off of said album. FREE. NEW. FREE.

My morning went a little like this. Woke up to my alarm ("Shake It Off", of course), got my News Reporting and Writing book off of my desk because I've got 2 chapters to read by tomorrow, picked up my phone to check Twitter, saw Niall tweeting about a new album, freaked out, grabbed my laptop, gawked at Harry Styles, downloaded the song, and I've been listening to it on repeat since.

Onto the actual song..."Fireproof" is so chill. And different from what they normally do, though it definitely resonates more with the "Midnight Memories" sort of style. I'm not trying to say that this is the best song ever (HAH, pun not intended) nor will change anybody's minds about them, but it's a solid jam. I frequently roll and roll until I'm out of luck as well, Harry. And by roll I mean I eat a lot of egg rolls. I emotionally eat Chinese food frequently. It's all right, totally normal.

The song reminds me of something, but I can't put my finger on it exactly. Maybe a little like John Mayer, circa "Battle Studies"? I don't know. I'm too fragile to properly do some cross referencing. It's a fantastic jam, is for sure added to my shower playlist (see: Sing Your Heart Out, Man), and further solidified the fact that my love is fair game to those five lads. Okay, mostly just Harry Styles and Niall Horan. Okay, mostly just Harry Styles. You got me there.

What's your favorite song release as of late? I'm also really loving the piano version of Sia's "Chandelier". 

P.S. Their new album comes out November 17th. That's four days before my birthday. It's a sign, obviously.
