Specifically, I'm referring to Lean In by Sheryl Sanberg (current COO of Facebook) and I Shouldn't Be Telling You This by Kate White (former editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine). I read these two books on my car ride to and from Delaware and the amount of inspiration and empowerment that I drew from each is astronomical. I grew up with hard-working females in seemingly male dominated jobs, i.e. the field of law, so women being able to work and juggle a family has never seemed like an issue to me. You get the kids ready for school, you go to work, they get a babysitter or go to an after school program, you pick them up, and all is well in the world. I was blissfully ignorant to what really happens when you're a female in the workplace. I am making my mom read Lean In as well and so far she loves it just as much as I do.
2. The Maze Runner by James Dashner
I read a lot on the beach, so my apologies for all of these book favorites! I started reading The Maze Runner my junior year, but only managed to get through the first 10 pages because I got really busy with some projects for my classes. Flashforward to last Friday when my friend's mom lent me the book to read on the beach. I powered through that sucker in 24 hours and was craving more (unfortunately, the store on the beach only had the last 2 books in the series and not the 2nd book that I actually needed). Needless to say, I was addicted. Everything was happening so fast, but not fast enough to the point where I had a WTF is happening moment. Each chapter ended at a point where I had to read 2 or 3 or 10 more to keep seeing what was happening! I told myself I was doing it for Dylan O'Brien (he's Thomas in the movie!), but Dylan O'Brien or not, this book was fantastic.

3. Melophobia on vinyl
A month or so ago, I browsed Record Theater for The 1975 on vinyl and came up short (as usual). I ended up finding a Cage the Elephant vinyl for a decent price and got it on a whim (I really like getting vinyls from bands I don't already have music purchased from). It was, arguably, one of my best purchases. Every Cage the Elephant song that I've heard before the purchasing of this vinyl was great, and this album is no exception. I love listening to it all the way through and I'm always sad when the needle stops spinning.

4. My tan
All I wanted all summer was to get a tan. I spent a majority of my summer inside and failed miserably at this...until my vacation at the beach. I was adamant about getting a sun kissed glow because I just wanted to look good in my neon J. Crew chino shorts (#TrueStory).
5. 9 day countdown
I go back to school in 9 days and I AM SO EXCITED. It probably upsets my parents that I say this nearly every hour, but I really am so pumped to be back in Cleveland and taking classes that are all related to my major and seeing my friends from Ohio and having Starbucks every day. We all know that the latter is the most important part though.

6. Iced vanilla lattes
There's really nothing I can say about these besides the fact that they are my new kryptonite.

7. Allie Evans surprising her subscriber
Allie Evans is one of my favorite Youtubers. She's around my age, is fiercely independent, and totally adorable. She has great fashion sense and just seems so genuine. It's no surprise that this made my heart swell about two sizes and I might have cried a little bit.
