1. Blueberry + frozen banana + vanilla yogurt + almond milk smoothies
It's honestly so simple. I discovered this creation last week when I realized the only fruit we had in our house were some frozen bananas and about 1/4 a pint of blueberries. I was pretty hungry so I decided that add the bottom half of my YoCrunch vanilla yogurt and used some almond milk to make it blend easier (as juice would have probably been pretty gross with the yogurt). It ended up being so good. The texture was great and it was a lot thicker than my normal runny smoothies. I'll definitely be making these more often.
2. 5 Seconds of Summer's debut album
5SOS's debut self-titled album finally came out in the United States on Tuesday and it is everything I could have ever wanted from them. They're such a fantastic group of lads (and 4 Aussie hotties) who make great rock music. My favorites on the album are "Beside You", "Amnesia" (shocker), "Mrs All American", and "Voodoo Doll".
3. The Opposite of Loneliness by Marina Keegan
I am so heart broken by what happened to Marina Keegan (you can read about it here) a couple of years back. Such a bright young girl with an ending that came too soon. Some of her brilliant works, fiction and nonfiction, have been compiled into this book of essays that came out in April of this year. The beginning essay, with the eponymous title The Opposite of Loneliness, was eye opening and resonated with me on so many levels. The rest of the essays following contain the same amount of poignant, entertaining, and overall incredible pieces.
4. 4 Years of One Direction
Yesterday was the 4 year anniversary of One Direction after being put together by chance on the X Factor. No shame in being excited about this. They've come so far and have so much more to conquer in the music world.
5. This chocolate chip cookie recipe
As yesterday's posts would have hinted to, I've been a bit obsessed with trying to perfect this chocolate chip cookie recipe. It took a botched 3 dozen batches and a lot of perseverance to create the almost perfect cookie, but I think they turned out fairly well. The best part? They are so easy to make.
6. Being off of work
My uncle has been on vacation for a week and I have been enjoying my time off more than I probably should. I'm still watering their plants (which takes hours as they seriously have a f**king nursery in their backyard) and worked a day at my friend's market, but I had two entire days to work on my tan and read. It's going to be a rude awakening when I have to go back to work on Monday, but at least my trip to Delaware is a short 2 weeks away!
