Back To School Shopping: Stationery & Supplies

*loose leaf credit

School supplies are the greatest things to ever grace this earth, besides Zayn Malik's eyelashes and like…Chris Hemsworth's abs. The end of July/beginning of August are the happiest times of the year, not just because it's summer, but because of the back to school sales and shopping. I was always less interested in the clothes aspect (#CatholicSchoolProblems) and far more interested in shopping for pens, pencils, notebooks, cases to put my pencils in, scented highlighters, and the list goes on and on.

My love for school supplies has not changed throughout the years and I've become increasingly more picky. Case in point, my favorite pens ever were the Bic Ultimates pens with the colorful glittery outsides. Even though they are literally the same as the ones with the regular tube, I was (and still am) convinced that the glittery ones wrote better. AND THEY DISCONTINUED THEM (and I can't find them online). I haven't found a pen that I've liked since, which is really irritating. Have my notes suffered? Probably not. But my emotions have!

All jokes aside, I have convinced myself that the more aesthetically appealing my school supplies are, the more organized I am, which (hopefully) increases productivity, which should increase my grades. It's a long process, but it works, so I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

I got a little head start on school shopping this year because I didn't want to miss any of the good sales and best stock before the end of the summer hits and everybody is scrambling. I mean, I'll inevitably be scrambling for something. This is all I've picked up so far.

I decided to get a desk calendar this year. I always forget to look at the large calendars in my agenda, so this should be a fool-proof way to avoid forgetting important dates.

I'm a child and bought glittery folders. What more can I say? They were adorable, on sale for a dollar each, AND THEY ARE GLITTERY. I'm a child at heart, sue me.

These were the only two notebooks that were up to my color standard. I need college ruled notebooks, and Target had no two subject notebooks. I made an exception for these two though. I also picked up three stacks of large post-it notes and a multicolor stack of smaller ones. True Life: I'm Addicted To Post-It Notes.

I got a new package of Bic mechanical pencils and highlighters, because in my opinion, you can never have too many. A couple of weeks back I also picked up this package of thank you cards because 1. They're precious and 2. You never know when you're going to need one!

And last but not least, what I plan on using for every class next semester…I'm kidding, I swear, but I couldn't pass up this notebook/folder combination. They're all so handsome. I'll find some use for it somehow, but will most certainly not be whipping these out during my lectures (or in public in general).

What I still need:

+ Agenda (I can't decide between a Lilly Pulitzer or Kate Spade agenda!)
+ Pens
+ 2 subject notebooks (I find that 3 subject is too much, but 1 subject isn't enough. But those pink ones were too cute to pass up!)
+ Textbooks
+ A small journal to carry around in my purse for random spurts of inspiration

What's your favorite part of back to school shopping?
