Despite only having a year of college under my belt, I think I've gotten the hang of it quite a bit. I'm no expert, as I said before, but based on my first year experience, I think I am able to compile a list of "must haves" for a college girl. Of course, you need your books and other school supplies, and if you're living in the dorms then that's a complete other story. I digress, there are ten things that a girl in college will need at some point during the year.
- A wristlet. It's important to get one with room for your cell phone and absolute necessities. (x)
- A cute, but practical, winter jacket (depending on climate). You're going to have to walk outside at some point in the winter time, so you might as well be warm and stylish. (x)
- Chocolate. A bar of chocolate can heal all wounds, whether they be stress or boy related. I like keeping a bag of Dove chocolate squares underneath my desk for when I need a pick me up (or three…)
- Best friend's number memorized. You never know when you're going to be in a situation where you need to reach them and you don't have your phone. Even if you do have your phone, it's nice to just be able to type in their number for a quick vent session.
- Comfortable lounge clothes. While I'm known to lounge in my dad's old t-shirts, it's nice to have some cuter clothes to relax in. And if you dorm, like me, having pajamas/lounge clothes that aren't worn out are helpful for fire drills. (x)
- A pair of ballet flats. These are the easiest things to dress up or dress down. They look good with a pair of jeans and with your favorite shift dress. Plus, your feet won't kill after teetering on heels for one too many hours. (x)
- An agenda. This is one must-have school supply that I had to include. Your life becomes ten times easier when you have one set place to write down all of your assignments and important dates to remember. (x)
- Thermal mug or tumbler cup. A cute and easy way to bring drinks on the go. Especially for those 8 AM classes that you need coffee to get through. (x) (x)
- A "go-to" outfit. It's always helpful to have one "go to" outfit that you can put on if you're in rush in the morning. Mine is a white tee, chambray top, jeans, gold flats, and a statement scarf. Swap out the shoes depending on weather and I'm out of the door!
- Confidence. You need to be confident in yourself and what you do in college. You can't let other people knock you around, no matter what the voice inside of your head is telling you. Just remember that nobody works as hard as you work.
Hi Francesca! I just spent a couple reading through all of your posts and, as someone who doesn't wear much makeup, I really like everything you have to say about it. It's helped me to make some makeup and fashion decisions for myself. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you so much! I'm glad that I was able to help in some sort of way. :)
