Since my YouTube channel has died temporarily went on hiatus, my favorites from each month have to live somewhere, right? I just love rounding up things from the month and evaluating what has been something I've continuously reached for or watched or read or really, just projected my obsessive tendencies onto. My new beauty favorites have been far and few between since I moved in an effort to save money but I got a new product from Influenster this month that has made my heart soar, so, might as well spread my love for it somewhere!

I'm sure I've talked about my love for the original Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder because it was the only thing that could keep my under eye concealer from caking and spreading all over the place and #exposing my perpetual dark circles. So, needless to say, when I saw in my box that I had this glowy version, my dewy skin loving heart skipped a few beats. Or a dozen. Who really knows to be exact. At first I was a little confused. Was this a highlighter, a setting powder, what was the truth? So I decided to slather it all over my face and hope for the best and on the first day I wore it my coworker was like "What the fuck is on your face and why is it glowing?" Okay, it was much more polite and elegant than that but I was like damn, this powder is doing things.
It's definitely glowy. If you have oily skin, I'd probably pass on this because it will add a healthy amount of glow to your skin everywhere you place it. But you normal/combo skin peeps will have a friend in this powder if you like a glowy finish to your skin. Oh, also it, you know, it keeps your makeup in place as well. It even is able to match the disgusting city humidity and Union Square subway platform, which is a difficult feat in my eyes. This one is a win in my book and if you're a glowy skin lover like I am, get the mini version of this because I'm sure it'll last you forever. A little goes a looooooooooong way, let's just leave it at that!
So, I did an entire post about this eyeliner and have a fear of being redundant. This will be more of an update about how I feel about this eyeliner because as you know, my tried and true and the only eyeliner that has ever been able to give me a precise wing consistently throughout its lifespan is the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. A few huge positives about this eyeliner: it's super black, it literally does not budge unless you really want it to by using an eye makeup remover (trust me, I accidentally slept in it), and it's pretty precise. In a dire situation, I could use this eyeliner for everything but the tip just is missing the tiniest bit of density to make the super precise tip that I want. That being said, I mean, it's Fenty. Of course it's incredible. I don't think anything in that line is anything short of spectacular.
Blushes are hard. I love them, I need them, I wear them every day, but other than them being pigmented and long-lasting, there isn't much else I can say about them. Much like my ability to talk about music and books and literally anything besides myself, this is going to be a short and sweet and potentially nonsensical chat about this blush. I have the shade Aplum, which I stole from my mother by accident, but it's a pretty hybrid of a pink and plum shade (hence the name). These blushes are oil-free powders and oil-absorbing, which means they'll remain matte and will be long-lasting throughout the day. It applies evenly, it's easy to build while still being super pigmented upon first swipe, and it's the perfect natural color to get you through all four seasons.
So I did mention earlier that the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder was the only thing that I would set my under eyes with, but I ran out of my original powder (I did get sent a travel size with my full sized glow powder, but that was after I bought this powder) and needed something to keep my undereye concealer from slipping and sliding all over the place. So, I headed to Target to get some cheap loose powder from my trusty E.l.f. They never let me down! And they didn't this time. I will say, a little goes a long way and too much can leave a slight white tint instead of it being super transluscent, but overall this powder keeps my creamy products in place without creasing or melting off of my face which is all I can ask for a powder that cost me six bucks!
Sweetener by Ariana Grande
What more could I say about sweet angel baby Ariana Grande that nobody else has said before? She's the most incredible gal and I love her to death, including this new album. It's fun, it's sexy, and it showcases her beautiful voice so perfectly. Can you tell I adore her? Obviously her leading singles "No Tears Left To Cry" and "God Is A Woman" are two huge bops, but I love "Sweetener" and "Successful" and um, everything on it?
To All The Boys I've Loved Before

DeleteI'm horrible and haven't watched To All The Boys yet! But the more I hear people talk about it the more it seems like I'm going to have to finally cave and check it out :p
ReplyDeleteOh you should!!!! It's so adorable, I cannot handle.
DeleteThese all look awesome! I do really want to try the Fenty eyeliner because Kat von D (the person) is anti-vax and I'm thoroughly in the illnesses-that-can-kill-me-should-be-vaxxed-for camp.
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOD SHE IS WHAT?!?! I thought it was the Jeffree vs. Kat feud that made people dislike her (which is another issue in itself bc of Jeffree). *facepalm* I will never understand the anti-vax argument. Well, this is severely disappointing to hear -___-
